- This project will be solicited as an Invitation for Bid as solicitation number W911KB-11-B-0004. The planned date for issuance of the solicitation remains on or about March 7, 2011. This work will be a 100% Small Business Setaside. The Eielson Farm Road AAA site is located within the Fairbanks North Star Borough approximately 21 miles southeast of Fairbanks and 10 miles southeast of the city of North Pole. The site is located on land owned by the Mental Health Trust Authority (MHTA) and is located ¾ mile west of the Eielson Air Force Base (AFB) property boundary near Piledriver Slough. The site is generally rectangular and encompasses approximately 35 acres of land. Soil, sediment, and groundwater at the site are contaminated with fuel. The fuel impacted soil covers an area of approximately 3.5 acres. The Decision Document for the Eielson Farm Road AAA site was finalized in September 2010. The selected remedy entails the following major components: - excavation of contaminated soil and sediment; - transportation of contaminated soil and sediment to a treatment/disposal facility; - free product recovery from the open excavation; - backfill the excavations; - revegetate the site This work will include the preparation of planning documents; the excavation, transportation, and treatment/disposal of up to 27,000 tons of fuel impacted soil and 800 tons of fuel impacted sediment; site revegetation; and reporting. The completion date for all work is June 30, 2012. A solicitation will be available on this site on or about March 7, 2011. This project is a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside. This is not a solicitation. A response is not required for this notice.
