Description
The Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials to perform all work necessary to extend a fiber and copper distribution duct bank system for the Child Development Center (CDC). All work performed by the contractor shall result in a complete and usable system. All work shall be performed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The contractor shall start work within 15 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed and complete all work (to include clean up of the premises and final inspection) within 50 calendar days. This is a presolicitation notice in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. The description of work includes the following: Install 2 each 4 inch conduits (PVC) from the hand hole located just south of Bldg 1056, Harold Youth Center, to include two hand holes located along the 1875 foot run (used as pull points) to a new manhole that will be located northeast of Kansas and Hancock Aves see distance shown on plans for the CDC location. One conduit will be blank with pull string installed and the other will have 3 ways maxcell fabric installed with an additional pull string installed outside of the maxcell. Specific dig route and hand hole/manhole locations will be coordinated thru the DPW, NEC, and CDC contractor, but must result in minimal disturbance of tree roots. The conduit shall be trenched three foot below the surface of the ground. See route map for conduit route location of handholes, manholes, and conduit may vary a few feet from route shown. Pull and splice a new 50 pair 24 AWG copper cable from the new manhole to Bldg 136 and make all terminations for a completed system, and provide all necessary materials for splicing. Cable length is estimated at 6500 feet. Cable counts will be provided by the NEC. Pull and splice 12 strands of single mode fiber from the new manhole splice case to MH 209 located along Biddle Ave and splice fiber into strands provided by the NEC. Cable length is estimated at 2700 feet. Restore disturbed ground by seeding at the completion of digging activities to current or better conditions. All work to be accomplished in accordance with the I3A Installation Guide, dated February 2010. This procurement is set aside for small business with NAICS code 237130. The magnitude of work for this project is $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The Invitation for bid (IFB) solicitation will be provided approximately March 18, 2011. In accordance with FAR 5.204 the solicitation package will be posted on www.fbo.gov.
