- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas intends to make a single award for the provision of Elevator Maintenance and Repair Services for the Metropolitan Detention Center Brooklyn located at 80 29th Street, Brooklyn, New York. The contractor is to provide maintenance and repair services for a total of seventeen (17) elevators located inside the institution and at staff housing located at 92nd Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn, New York. The contractor shall provide full maintenance services in compliance with the latest edition of American Standard Safety Code for Elevators, ANSI Elevator Inspection Manual, and all applicable laws, regulations, rules, ordinances, and codes, etc. Full maintenance service is defined as all services, cleaning, maintenance, inspections, repairs and testing necessary to maintain all elevators, appurtenances and accessories in a fully operational mode at all times, except for prescheduled downtime. In order to accomplish necessary repairs and adjustments, the contractor will be required to provide personnel for regular (7:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Monday Through Friday) and emergency call-back service when requested. The contract shall consist of a base year with four (4) twelve (12) month option periods for renewal. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238290 with a small business size standard of $14 million. The solicitation will be made available on or about March 1, 2011 and will be distributed solely through the General Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is March 24, 2011. Anticipated date of award is April 29, 2011. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
