Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation, Solicitation Number DOL111RQ21216. The Department of Labor (DOL), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management, (OASAM), on behalf of the Wage and Hour Division, is issuing a combined synopsis/solicitation to procure hotel and conference services located in Melbourne, Florida. This requirement is being solicited unrestricted. The period of performance will be from May 10, 2011 to May 12, 2011. The place of performance shall be performed at contractor facility. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 721110, Hotel Management Services ; the Size Standard is $30.0 million. Under this requirement, the contractor shall provide the following: Equipment: Carts, screens, and power cords to support conference (6 conference rooms and one meeting room); (1) Podium with handheld lavaliere microphone; (7) American flags; (6) Flip-chart easels; (6) Podium with hand-held microphone; Internet connections (wired or wireless) to support conference. Project Coordination: The contractor shall provide help to ensure WHD project is successful in setting up conference; the contractor shall ensure all guests are registered and accommodated; the contractor shall ensure guests with disabilities are properly taken care of under the American with Disabilities Act; the contractor shall provide liaise and coordinate with WHD representative to ensure success of conference; the contractor shall ensure facilities are clean; the contractor shall provide support and promote communication between WHD and contract personnel promoting on-going consultation and status to inquiries. Facilities: The contractor shall provide Wage and Hour with facilities to conduct a three day conference; the contractor shall reserve 50 guest rooms with an additional provision to accommodate 250 - 300 conferees; the contractor shall provide one large meeting room and six smaller conference rooms for three days of conference meetings; the contractor shall provide light refreshments in the morning and afternoon. Example of light refreshments would be the following: (Coffee, tea, water, pastries/bagels, and fruit in the morning [or something similar] and water, sodas, coffee, tea, and cookies in the afternoon [or something similar]. A firm-fixed price type contract is contemplated. All prospective offerors must have a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code and be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov. This will be an electronic solicitation release. The Solicitation Expiration Date is March 7, 2011, 12:00PM EST. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which will be considered. Offeror quotes will be evaluated on the basis of price and the ability to delivery. COMPLIANCE WITH NONDISCRIMINATION AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY LAWS The assurance at 29 CFR 37.20(a)(1) is incorporated by reference into this contract. The assurance provides that the contractor will comply fully with the nondiscrimination and equal opportunity provisions of the following statutes: Section 188 of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), which prohibits discrimination against all individuals in the United States on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or political affiliation or belief, and against beneficiaries on the basis of either citizenship/status as a lawfully admitted immigrant authorized to work in the United States or participation in any WIA Title I-financially assisted program or activity; Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, which prohibits discrimination on the bases of race, color and national origin; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1964, as amended, which prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities; The Age Discrimination Act of 1975, as amended, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of age; and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as amended, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs. The contractor also assures that it will comply with 29 CFR part 37 and all other regulations implementing the statutes listed above. This assurance applies to the contractor's operation of, or provision of services to, a Job Corps Center, program or activity, and to all subcontracts entered into by the contractor to carry out the Job Corps program or activity, or its operation of the Center. The contractor understands that the United States has the right to seek judicial enforcement of this assurance.
