- Description
- The Fleet Readiness Center East has a requirement for repair/replacement parts for the AH-1W and AH-1Z Linkless Ammunition Feed System (LFS). It is the intent of the government to award a contract to Meggitt Defense Systems, Inc.(MDSI), Irvine, CA on as sole source basis for these parts. MDSI designed and developed the LFS in close cooperation with NAVAIR and the Fleet Support Team (FST) under a full and open competitively awarded procurement and all drawings and other data required to manufacture the LFS and related parts are proprietary to MDSI. Therefore, MDSI is the only vendor capable of manufacturing and supplying the LFS repair parts of this requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSAL. However, all proposals received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
