- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with NVISION, INC., 440 Wrangler Drive, Suite 200, Coppell, TX 75019 for the following: Scanning and Inspection of Anodized Targets Blank and Engraved. High resolution measurement accuracy is needed in the 2 micron range on a curved surface achievable by a MAXOS laser Scanner with rotating platform. NVision is the only source for the MAXOS Scanner and the MAXOS Scanner provides the most accurate contactless measurement using concentrated light. The resolution and accuracy is required to achieve the information necessary in the evaluating and documenting target properties. Based on NIST's recent market research, NIST has only identified the one source that can provide the required request NVISION, INC., 440 Wrangler Drive, Suite 200, Coppell, TX 75019 The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed- price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; however, companies that believe they can fulfill the requirement may provide a written response to this notice and provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate that capability. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competition.
