Description
The following answers are posted in response to questions received as of 15 February, 2011 Answers to Questions MP13088-2 Q. The RFQ does not mention 8A participation and would not give any value to the bid unless it called out 8A in the evaluation section as I understand things. You indicated that 8A was desirable. Will it become part of the evaluation? A. This solicitation is posted as "full and open" and that is how it will be throughout the procurement process. Q What is the clearance of the ceiling above the rack that will be enclosed by wire? Can we install wire at 28'6"H? A. Rack height is 22' Q. As an option, can we omit the ceiling over the wire enclosure around the 10 bays? There would be side panels extending up to 28'6" on all four sides. A. No the secure cage must be closed in completely. Q. Are the work crew members required to be citizens? A: Employees will be required to be cleared for bldg entrance Q. Can the fence run with the gates be 14' tall which is very close to the ceiling in the walkway? A: Yes Q. Will the complete area be clear of any other storage or trade work when the material installation starts. This includes both sides of the long fence run to facilitate installation. On the outside of the long fence run only 5' to 6' of space is needed. A: Yes Q. The original request calls for a 4 week completion from the issue date. It will take over a week to get approval drawings for the fence, 4-5 weeks to get the fence material, up to 6-7 weeks to get the rack material and 4-5 weeks to get the locker material. This does not include erection time. A: This date can be re-adjusted Q. Will the area outside of the loading dock be available to store material if the area inside is not clear? A: floor space will be cleared prior to any work being started Q. What is the size of the locker requested? A: 18"w x 21"d x 72"h Q. Will the award date of March 15 be held? If not what is a firm issue date. A: As of today, the award date is anticipated as March 15 th. The date may be adjusted if necessary. 1. Does racking need to be seismic compliant? A: No 2.
