- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented withadditional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutesthe only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitationwill not be issued. Solicitation number N65236-11-R-0021 is issued as aRequest for Proposal (RFP). The solicitation document and incorporatedprovisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular2005-48. The Government anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price CommercialItem type contract in accordance with the procedures detailed in FAR 13.5.Thisacquisition is a set 100% small businesses. The applicable NAICS code is541519 with a size standard of $25 Million. This acquisition is for thequantities set forth herein. Requirements: This requirement is for VMware vCenter Configuration. The software will beused in the Collaborative Solutions Environment (CSE) to manage configurationand compliance policies for all 100+ servers in the environment. DefenseInformation Systems Agency (DISA) and Navy guidelines require configurationmanagement procedures to control changes in production environments. CSEcurrently has an ATO (Authority to Operate) from the Navy Designated ApprovalAuthority operate on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) network. Thesoftware will ensure automated continuous compliance with security bestpractices and hardening guidelines for VMware, Microsoft, Linux and Sunsystems. It will enforce DISA standards and regulatory mandates.Configuration Manager will consolidate tools to increase InformationTechnology (IT) efficiency, removing the hassles, headaches and timeassociated with using multiple, separate systems for managing server andsoftware provisioning, changes, patches, configurations and remediation's. Itwill improve visibility through one, centralized view into configuration,securityand operational compliance. Its high-level dashboards provide the right levelof information needed to make change, configuration and patch managementprocesses more effective. Also, its ability to view details about the changeshappening in the IT environment and see and track the impact those changeshad on service levels and IT compliance.
