Description
The A-10 System Program Office (SPO) at Hill AFB recently assumed responsibility for the A-10 Aircraft Operational Flight Program (OFP) Software Development and Integration. As a result, the A-10 SPO is seeking mid-level acquisition engineers/technical acquisition experts with a minimum of 5 years experience working large-scale DoD aircraft OFPs, defined as programs with a budget equal to or greater than $10M/yr. The A-10 SPO needs qualified software acquisition engineers to provide SPO program managers with technical expertise in software development, test, integration, and sustainment. The contractor needs to have experience working with both organic and prime contractor software development organizations. Experience transitioning software development from prime contractor to organic is highly desired. The contractor shall have demonstrable working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycles (e.g. Waterfall, Improved Waterfall, Rapid Application Development, etc.). The contractor shall have knowledge/experience with all phases of DoD aircraft OFP software acquisition (requirements, design, development, integration, test, etc.) including software maintenance/sustainment. This effort includes evaluating and testing of aircraft systems to determine if problems exist that are due to aging, sustainment, bad maintenance practices, or component failure issues. This will include assessing deficiency indicators, identifying and evaluating alternative solutions, including designing, integrating, and validating various solutions. A SECRET security clearance is required. If, after reading the overview of the requirement for the task above, you desire to participate in this market research, you should provide a capabilities document (limited to 5 pages) that supports your company's capability in meeting the above requirements. Failure to provide documentation may result in the Government being unable to adequately assess your capabilities. If you lack sufficient experience in particular areas, please provide details explaining how you would overcome the lack of experience/skills/capabilities/tools in order to perform that requirement.
