- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Gerome Reeve of Boulder, Colorado, to conduct an onsite assessment service under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for the compliance of the Calibration Program. NVLAP is a U.S. Government program administered by NIST, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce. NVLAP is a voluntary program that provides a mechanism for the recognition of testing and calibration laboratories based on internationally accepted standards.. It identifies competent laboratories for the use by regulatory agencies, purchasing authorities, and product certification systems and promotes the acceptance of test and calibration results among economies and accreditors to support trade facilitation activities worldwide. NVLAP operates a management system that is compliant with ISO/IEC 17011:2004. Gerome Reeve is the only known vendor capable in providing the required compliance assessment. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541380, and the size standard is $5M. ******A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, responses received by February 15, 2011 12:00 p.m., EST will be considered by the Government.
