- Description
- As of 2/11/2010, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), contemplates awarding, on a sole source basis, a firm-fixed price contract in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 15 for the publication and dissemination of a Special Issue on a collection of scientific and programmatic articles on Assessment of Vaccination Coverage in Public Health Reports. The Association of Schools for Public Health is the only vendor that can provide publication in the Public Health Reports Journal. Publication in this specific Journal meets all of the program requirements including targeting the U.S. Public Health Service officials and meeting cost and time constraints. The publication of the supplement will advance scientific knowledge and public health research and policy on addressing factors that are associated with lower vaccination coverage and may impact CDC's public health work in reducing health disparities The Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH), 1900 M Street NW, Suite 710, Washington, D.C. has been determined to be the only responsible source for this requirement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Justification for other than full and open competition is considered to be in the government's best interest due to the fact that ASPH is the only company which has exclusive full capabilities to reach our target audience in a prudent timeframe for public good. Note 22 applies herein. The statutory authority permitting other-than-full-and-open competition is 41 U.S.C., 253(c)(1): FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible qualified large business and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract will be based on responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for informational purposes. All questions or concerns about this Synopsis shall be submitted via e-mail to Gary Morgan at gmorgan1@cdc.gov. No solicitation package will be available or posted at this site for downloading. Consider this the only public notification issued. This buy is under classification code 76.
