- US Fish and Wildlife ServiceSeeking sources, for ocean transportation from Honolulu Hawaii to Midway Island and return. US FWS, Portland OR. has a requirement for a Kahana or Barge to carry conex containers from Honolulu HI to Midway Island and return with Hazardous Waste (asbestos and lead paint). Conex Containers are 20' type and we are anticipating 25 Each. Estimated total weight will be 260 tons. Containers must be to Midway Island on April 3, 2011 and will leave Midway Island on April 9, 2011 fully loaded for transport to Hawaii. Barge or Kahana must have EPA I.D. number for Haz. Waste Transportation. Transportation vessel must have crane to load and unload conex containers and an individual to operate that crane.
