Description
Contractor to provide full Architect/Engineering services as required to perform a study to analyze the current LD emergency generator system and determine the most cost effective approach to replacing the six (6) emergency generators that have a combined output of 1,310 KW, standby rating for Project No. 596-11-102 'Replace Emergency Generators, LD' for the VA Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky, Leestown Road division. The A/E study shall also look at an approach to replacing the estimated 30-Hp, 50-year old Continental Red Seal gasoline engine emergency backup for the sewage ejector pump. Prime Contractor should have license/registered Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as members of the firm with experience in hospital paralleled standby generator installation projects. Construction Cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Area of consideration is limited to a 150 mile radius of the Lexington, Kentucky VA Medical Center. Firms desiring consideration must submit THREE copies of SF 330, not later than 3:00 PM local time, March 10, 2011. This procurement is a full and open procurement. NAICS 541310 with a size standard of $4.5 million is applicable. Contract award is subject to the availability of VA funds. A/E Selection criteria will include: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for performance of required services; 2) specialized experience and technical competence of the A/E firm with similar type projects; 3) past performance on contracts with Government agencies; 4) Location of A/E firm; 5) experience and roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; 6) cost control and estimating effectiveness. This is not a request for proposal. THREE copies of SF 330 should be mailed to Connie Mabley, Contracting Officer (90C), 2250 Leestown Rd., Lexington, Kentucky 40511. No faxed or emailed SF 330's will be accepted.
