Description
Announcement: Presolicitation Action Code: <PRESOL> Subject: Notice of Intent to award Sole Source for Parts and Repair for QTrap Mass Spectrometer Solicitation Number: PR20061827 Description: Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), with AB Sciex, LLC for the purchase of parts and repair services for one (1) QTrap Mass Spectrometer. Parts included are the Turbo V902 pump, Turbo V801 controller, travel and labor. ***Sole Source determination is based on the fact that AB Sciex is the manufacturer of the QTrap Spectrometer and is the most qualified firm to make repairs and validate the post-repair environment. A non-qualified repair would cause considerable delay and create backlogs of samples to be analyzed. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Newark, NJ, and is required within 30 days after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219 - Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. **The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with AB Sciex, LLC. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the Government to determine if the party can perform the requirement. A determination to compete this action based on the responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. All interested parties must express their interest and capabilities via email. Verifications of receipt of responses are the sole responsibility of the contractor. If no responsive statements are received by February 14, 2011 1700 hours, an award shall be made to the AB Sciex, LLC.
