- RECOVERY – THIS POST-AWARD NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO PRESIDIO NETWORKED SOLUTIONS, INC. FOR THE REASONS DESCRIBED BELOW. In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, Pub.L. 111-5, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) posts this notice of issuance of modification 0045 to Delivery Order 0731 of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) that was awarded to Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc. for the consolidated purchase of various International Business Machine (IBM) software licenses and maintenance. This purchase will provide an additional 47 Millions of Service Units (MSU), upgraded license capacity and maintenance through September 30, 2011, to IBM software the IRS already owns. In meeting the spirit of ARRA, the modification has been executed as a firm-fixed price action to a previously competed BPA awarded to Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc., a small business. These upgrades are needed to support new workloads in the IRS mainframe environment. Mission critical tax applications will be affected by the changes implemented by the ARRA such that increased workload volumes and changes will require additional processing resources. The increased workloads include processing new Business Master File (BMF) tax forms and handling increased volumes of queries to support customer interactions with the IRS for other tax application systems. This acquisition will provide the software licenses and maintenance for the additional processor capacity required to process the new workloads.
