- Special Notice: Service maintenance agreement for an existing Quanta 600 FEG Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope.Notice: All Technical Questions concerning this requirement should be directed to Mr. Bret Howard at 412-386-5908, email Bret.Howard@netl.doe.gov. It is the National Energy Technology Laboratory's (NETL) intent to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to FEI Company for the service maintenance agreement for an existing Quanta 600 FEG Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope.To maintain the instrument at peak performance and maximum operational availability, the manufacturer must provide the maintenance and any replacement parts. Exact replacement parts must be utilized in order to assure continued reliable operation of the manufacturer's unit. FEI will not guarantee the performance of the instrument unless the service is done by their trained staff. FEI is the only vendor for this service maintenance agreement for the scanning electron microscope. FEI Company is the only vendor that can supply the required service maintenance agreement for the continued operation of the equipment.This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a request for quotation or proposal. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Challenges must demonstrate the capability to provide all of the attached listed specifications for the item(s) being requested. If no challenges to acquire this (these) item(s) are received by 17:30 PM ET on February 17, 2011, the government reserves the right to execute an award without publishing a solicitation. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed award based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to lora.stumpf@netl.doe.gov no later than the time and date noted above.
