- >******SEND ALL INFORMATION AND CORRESPONDENCE INCLUDING QUOTES AND TECHNICALQUESTIONS IN WRITING TO TIM CARSON, AT tim.carson@nasa.gov; FAX:256-544-5028***********NASA/MSFC has a requirement for the renewal of the annual network license of HyperWorksUnits.NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Altair Engineering. Altair Engineering isthe only company that provides a high-performance finite element pre-and post-processorfor major finite element solvers that handles unusually large models. Highly specializedanalysis is required for the resolution of various valve issues. This software willmesh solid models that existing software has been unable to mesh and Altair Engineeringis the only company providing this service.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon February 11, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
