- The US Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick Contracting Division, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Baron Engineering LLC of Lexington, MA, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, and 6.302-1(2)(ii) Services deemed to be available from the original source in the case of a follow-on contract for the continued development or production of a major system. Engineering and assessment services to provide expertise for the Combat Feeding Directorate in support of the continued development of the Battlefield Kitchen (BK) platform and appliance prototypes as well as utilizing solid works CAD modeling software. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as required for the BK platform utilizing Cosmo Works, Simulation, or ProMechanica. Provide structural analysis, and participate with laboratory testing, evaluation and system integration. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541330. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 8711. A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract is planned. All questions and/or inquiries must be submitted by E-Mail only.
