- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements", the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) intends to award a sole-source contract to Northwest Marine Technology Inc. (NMT), of Shaw Island, Washington, for binary coded wire tags. These thin wire micro-coded tags with a binary number, are applied by insertion into fingerling fish and used to monitor their growth without loss of life to the fish. Each group of tags is made agency specific and contains a unique batch or individual code for that agency. This equipment is protected by several U.S. patents held by NMT. NMT is the only know authorized manufacturer and distributor of this item or any similar item.
