- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REOUEST FOR PROPOSALS. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS, OR DRAWINGS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. USACE Norfolk District is seeking interested firms capable of performing construction of significant facilities and infrastructure electrical upgrades to the NOAA, NESDIS, Wallops Command Data Acquisition Station to support a new GOES-R generation of weather satellites under current development. The following projects are applicable but not limited to this acquisition: realignment of access roads and roundabout/relocation of utilities and ductbanks, construct power house building, electrical upgrades to the operation buildings, southside ductbank infrastructure and ductbank, southside ductbank wiring, northside ductbank infrastructure and ductbank, northside ductbank wiring, utility building renovation, construct addition to operation building, renovate and expand existing operation building GOES-east quite room and integrate new digital controls. The combined target award of this construction is between $30,000,000.00 - 35,000,000.00. All qualified firms are encouraged to respond by submitting attachment A & B. Upon review of the industry response to this Source Sought Notice, the Government should be able to complete acquisition strategy. The estimated award date is Summer-Fall of 2011. The NAICS Code 423610 will apply to the majority of this project. However, some minor renovations and roadwork maybe be applicable to NAICS Code 236220. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of qualified sources prior to finalizing the method of acquisition, best timing, and issuance of an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. ALL interested contractors are encouraged to fill out the sources sought (Attachment A) with all that apply to their firm. It is requested that interested firms submit 3 projects similar in scope and size of the individual projects listed above with between ranges of $350,000.00 to $10,000,000.00 (Attachment B). If experience is by your major subcontractor, please submit your subcontractor's information along with the prime contractor's information.
