Description
Development And Outreach Communication Officer This position is located in the Program Office at the USAID Mission in Port-au-Prince. The incumbent will serve as the Development Outreach Communication (DOC) Officer, providing the whole range of information and communication support to the USAID Mission in the context of the Post-earthquake USG stability and reconstruction strategy. The Development Outreach Communication (DOC) Officer is additive to existing Program Office capabilities and will address the wide range of public inquiries and outreach needs that USAID will face during the implementation of the new reconstruction strategy. The Information officer will serve as a liaison with the Public Affairs Officer (PAO) from the Embassy and will also be the main Point of Contact for the multitude of Congressional delegation visits that have increased in the aftermath of the earthquake. S/he will maintain strong ties with the Legislative Public Affairs (LPA) office at USAID/Washington to assist with USAID/Haiti's role in Congressional inquiries and visits. The DOC Officer is responsible for strategically planning, developing, implementing, and managing the outreach and communication effort to promote awareness and understanding of U.S. foreign assistance to Haiti. S/he is responsible for relaying, where appropriate, related policies and achievements to key audiences of the host country, in the United States, and with other donor countries.
