- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for DRYDOCK Repairs to the USCGC KATMAI BAY (WTGB 101). The acquisition will be solicited as a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about February 8, 2011. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The USCGC KATMAI BAY (WTGB 101) homeport is the Sault Ste Marie. GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS- the Great lakes. Anticipated start date on or about 30 MAY 2011 through 17 JULY 2011. The scope of the acquisition is to: (1) Hull plating (U/W Body, Ultrasonic testing, (2) Appendages (U/W), Leak Test, (3) Voids (Non-Accessible), Leak Test, (4) Chain Locker, Inspect and Clean, (5) Voids (Non-Accessible), Preserve Internal Surfaces, (6) Tanks (ballast), Clean and Inspect (7) Propulsion Shafting/Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall, (8) Propulsion Shaft Coating, Renew, (9) Propulsion Shaft Bearing (external), Check clearances, (10) Propulsion Stern Tube Bearing, Check Clearance, (11) Propeller, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall, (12) Fathometer Transducer, Renew, (13) Rudder Assembly, Remove, Inspect and Reinstall (14) Anchor, Anchor Chain and Ground Tackle, Inspect and Repair, (15) Grey Water Holding Tank, Clean and Inspect, (16) sewage vacuum collection tanks, clean and inspect, (17) Sewage Piping, Clena and Flush, (18) U/W Body Preserve (100%), (19) provide routine drydocking, (20) Shaft seal assembly, Replace, (21) Anchor Chain and Ground Tackle, Preserve, (22) Rudder Stock Bearings (Upper and Lower), Renew, (23) Hull Plating, U/W Body, Renew, (24) Temporary Services, (25) Sea Valves and Waster Pieces, Overhaul and Renew, (26) Deck Covering (Wet), Renew, (27Rudder Stock Bearings, Check Clearances, and (28) Sea Chest Strainer Inlet Piping de-icing Piping, Repair and Renew. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures.
