- Description
- The Government intends to solicit for an engineering study to determine how to best provide lightning protection per FAA-STD-019 and NFPA 780 and grounding per Mil-Std-188-124B for AN/FPS-117 Long Range Radar Radomes located in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Canada and AN/FPS-124 Short Range Radar Radomes located in Canada. Both AN/FPS-117 and AN/FPS-124 radomes are subject to winds up to 210 mph and can be covered with ice. The AN/FPS-117 radomes have a 658 inch diameter with a base diameter of 600 inches. Platforms are approximately 28 feet tall. The AN/FPS-124 radomes have a 287 inch diameter with a base diameter of 251 inches. Platforms are approximately 100 feet tall. The following additional information regarding this requirement is hereby provided: - The formal solicitation is expected to be released on or after 10 Feb 11. - The contract is expected to be awarded on or about 15 Apr 11. - The contract will be awarded based on a past performance/price tradeoff methodology where performance is significantly more important than price. - The delivery schedule and duration of the contract will not exceed one year. - All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. - If two or more responsible small businesses submit qualified proposals, the effort will be set-aside for small business.
