Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT for planning purposes only. Market research is being conducted to determine if there are businesses that qualify under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 19 with the capabilities and experience to perform the required work. All interested parties are invited to submit a capabilities statement, NOT TO EXCEED FOUR PAGES, to include three projects completed within the last 5 years that are relevant to the work that will be required under this project. Furthermore all capability STATEMENTS MUST IDENTIFY THE PROGRAMS UNDER FAR PART 19 THAT APPLY TO THEIR COMPANY. Provide a point of contact for each project listed. Electronic versions of your capabilities statement shall be submitted VIA E-MAIL ONLY TO: thorpe.olivia@dol.gov. (Olivia J. Thorpe, DOL Contract Specialist.) by February 7, 2011, 3:00 pm, EST. NO TELEPHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220. The Small Business Size Staandard is $33.5 million. PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION (CCR). Information regarding registration can be found at http://www.ccr.gov/. ALSO ENSURE THAT ONLINE REPRESENATIONS AND CERTIFICATION S ARE UPDATED IN ORCA AT HTTP://ORCA.BPN.GOV/. The work involves the renovation construction services for a phased renovation project for the Main Building (Building No. 1) at the South Bronx Job Corps Center, Bronx, New York. Also, Building 1 has been listed as a Historic Landmark by the New York City Landmark Preservation Commission. Therefore, all work to be carried out on the exterior of the builidng is to be executed with due regard for its historical character and significance. The work consists of three components, namely: mechanical/plumbing, electrical and architectural upgrades throughout the building, including miscellaneous site improvements such as general landscaping, drainage, pavements and connections to existing utility lines as may be required. The mechanical/plumbing component comprises the installation of new HVAC system(s) to provide thermal comfort throughout the building. The electrical component consists of upgrades to the building's power supply to support the new mechanical/plumbing systems. The architectural component consists of historical restoration of the building's exterior stone envelope and roofs, such as to render it weather-tight, as well as interior upgrades to finishes and restrooms. The estimated cost range for this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
