Description
The National Park Service (NPS), Grand Canyon National Park intends to procure on a full and open competition basis, utilizing a firm fixed price (FFP) contract, three cyclone water desanders. The Government requires three stand-alone desander units mounted in parallel to remove sand and small rocks from a raw water stream in a potable water treatment facility. Each unit shall be stand-alone capable with the three units providing triple redundancy for the flow stream on a triple header piping arrangement for inlet, outlet, and drain piping. Flow control and operation will be controlled by nine electrical-mechanical in-line valves controlled by the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) computers and by manual activation of the control valves. The desander units shall be compatible with the SCADA operated valves (provided by the Government) and shall be capable of being operated independently by manual valve actuation or by another control system provided by the contractor to allow for operation in the event that the SCADA computers should fail. A solicitation with a complete specification will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at https://www.fbo.gov on or about 11 Feb 11.
