Nutrients/components to be determined SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. This announcement is a Request for Information (RFI)/market research for planning purposes. This does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid; it issuance does not restrict the Government in any way as to its ultimate acquisition approach. No award will be made from this announcement. Reimbursement will not be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. Any source that believes they can provide the required services is entitled to submit a capability statement to the point-of-contact identified in this announcement. If any response is received, a determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this action is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Nutrient Data Laboratory (NDL), Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center, Agricultural Research Service, US Department of Agriculture, currently compiles and disseminates validated nutrient data on the composition of foods (see our website at www.ars.usda.gov/nutrientdata ). However, NDL does not have its own laboratory and relies on other government laboratories, cooperative agreements with university laboratories or contracts with commercial laboratories for the analysis of foods, beverages and other products. This "Sources Sought" notice is being published to determine the availability of laboratories with experience and interest in analyzing a wide variety of foods and beverages. Laboratories with experience analyzing a wide variety of food and beverage products are encouraged to respond. INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESPONDING TO THIS RFI The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541380 with a size standard of $12.0 Million. 1. A cover letter that includes company name, point(s) of contact, telephone number and email addresses. The cover letter should include applicable Dun and Bradstreet Number (DUNS) and CAGE Code. 2. GSA schedule number if the company can provide required services through GSA schedule contract or a statement that the company does not have a GSA schedule contract that could be utilized for this requirement. 3. Identification of the company as one or more of the following: •a. Small Business; •b. 8(a) business; •c. HUBZone Small Business; •d. Small Disadvantaged Business; •e. Woman-Owned Small Business; •f. Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business; •g. Large Business •h. Other: _________________ Please send the following information: Name of Laboratory, Address, Contact Person(s), Website Types of food and beverages routinely analyzed and for which you have analysis capability. Offerors are welcome to provide additional information that would indicate your business' strengths (i.e. qualifications and experience in handling and analyzing a wide variety of foods and beverage samples, number and types of products analyzed weekly or monthly, average turnaround time for result reporting, publications, etc.) Offerors can indicate that they can perform all the analyses specified in Attachment A in the basic nutrients/components list plus any in the expanded nutrients/components list for which they can demonstrate competence. Alternatively, offereors who have specialized expertise may indicate that they can perform specific analysis from only the expanded list.
