- The Coast Guard is seeking sources to produce Coat, Man's Classic Poly/Wool Serge, CG Shade 3362 (item 0001); Coat, Man's, Athletic Poly/Wool Serge, CG Shade 3362 (item 0002); and Coat, Woman's, Poly/Wool, CG Shade 3362 (item 0003). The applicable NSN for this procurement is 8405-01-113-2555(s) (item 0001), 8405-01-575-1872(s) (item 0002), and 8410-01-217-5445(s) (item 0003). The specification is CG-CDTO-U-014J (item 0001), CG-CDTO-U-021H (item 0002), and CG-CDTO-U-006H (item 0003). All three items shall be manufactured in accordance with United States Coast Guard Certification Numbers as follows: 3B8-188-01CG (Item 0001), 3B8-172-01CG (Item 0001); 3B8-189-42CG (Item 0002), 3B8-173-42CG (Item 0002); 3B8-187-21CG (Item 0003), 3B8-181-21CG (Item 0003); or other Coast Guard Certifications approved. DLA Troop Support, Clothing and Textiles has issued a solicitation for this procurement. The solicitation number is SPM1C1-10-R-0087. It has been extended indefinitely. In order to be considered for award, you must indicate your interest in participating in this certification process not later than three o'clock EST on February 4, 2011. All items must be Berry Amendment Compliant in accordance with "Section 833 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2006 Act added language to 10 U.S.C. 2533a requiring that all articles or items of "clothing", including the materials and components thereof, purchased by the Department of Defense be grown, reprocessed, reused, or produced in the United States, other than sensors, electronics, or other items added to, and not normally associated with, clothing (and the materials and components thereof)." In an effort to ascertain interest, the Government is seeking interested vendors to produce subject end items. All questions and concerns should be directed to the above POC.
