Description
SSJ NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION USING OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION MonoCL Upgrade: The solicitation number is FA8601-11-P-00125. The NAICS Code is 334516. The size standard is 1000 employees. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is Gatan, Inc., Warrendale, PA. The purchase is for a Gatan Mono CL System Upgrade. The upgrade will contain a Digiscan module, software, filters, and filter housing. This acquisition is in direct support of laboratory work supporting student research on the characterization of semiconductor material at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). This system will be used to analyze not only the band gap separation but defects caused by impurities in the material. By understanding how the impurities interact within the material. We will be able to make a better semiconductor device such as microprocessors.This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any information received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any information should be e-mailed to Kara.Sandberg@wpafb.af.mil or faxed to Kara Sandberg, ASC/PKOB, (937) 257-3926 no later than 12 P.M. local time on 27 January 2011. E-mail submissions must contain the subject line, "Solicitation FA8601-11-P-0125, MonoCL Upgrade." E-mail filters at WPAFB are designed to filter e-mails without subject lines or with suspicious subject lines or contents (i.e.,.exe or.zip files). Therefore, if the prescribed subject line is not included, the e-mail may not get through the e-mail filters. Also.zip or.exe files are prohibited attachments and may be deleted by the WPAFB e-mail filters. Ensure only.pdf,.doc, or.xls documents are sent as attachments to e-mail.
