- The VA Medical Center, 1101 Veterans Drive, Lexington, Kentucky is seeking information on qualified SBA certified 8(a) or HUBZone contractor to perform construction for Project No. 596A4-09-103, "Replace AHU 5, 6 & 7". The work includes general construction, renovation, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. This project will replace the existing air handlers 5, 6 & 7 in Building 1, Cooper Drive division with new air handlers to meet VA's air flow guidelines and revised duct riser to hand the air flow. Construction cost range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industrial Classification Standard is 238220 with a small business standard of $14.0 million. Interested 8(a) or HUBZone bidders should submit information on company experience in Air Handling Unit replacements, evidence of bonding capacity, key personnel experience in replacement of Air Handling Units, past performance information and evidence of SBA certification as an 8(a) or HUBZone Contractor. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this Sources Sought Announcement. The Government will evaluate information submitted by interested firms to determine if 8(a) or HUBZone set-aside is appropriate for this procurement. Contractors desiring consideration shall submit the above information to Connie Mabley, Contracting Officer, VA Medical Center, 2250 Leestown Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40511 by 3:00 p.m. EST on January 27, 2011.
