- Construction/renovation of a decommissioned Airport Surveillance Radar building for a remote transmitter and receiver (RTR facility, at Abilene Regional Airport, Abilene, Texas. The project includes instillation four Government Furnished material (GFM) 50 foot antenna towers, tower foundation, grounding, lightning protection, interior electronics preparation, modifying electrical power service and adding a double-throw safety switch for a temporary EG power. Demolition and removal of the existing 20T HVAC and handler system, installation of new 10T HVAC and handler system (Contractor provided), electrical installation of circuits for obstruction light and GFCI receptacles. Trenching, replacing and installation of concrete parking (existing asphalt shall be trenched in various locations and overall asphalt area will be replaced with 6" chick concrete parking). TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE - NAICS 237990 To be considered for award of this project the contractor must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (website: www.ccr.gov). The Department of Transportation(DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and control by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime and sub-contractor at any tier. The DOT bonding assistance program enable firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on bond amount to surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit of $750,000.
