- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. The US Army Corps of Engineers is conducting market research to facilitate a determination of acquisition strategy. The determination of acquisition strategy for this acquisition lies solely with the government and will be based on this market research and the information available to the government from other sources. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, is conducting this market research to ascertain if there are small businesses which have the capability to design and construct a standard 154,000 square foot General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB) Hangar at Fort Wainwright, AK. The construction period, including the design phase, is estimated to be approximately 21-24 months with a notice to proceed anticipated in February 2012. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220, Building and Institutional Construction, and the related small business size standard is $33.5 million. The estimated dollar magnitude of this project is anticipated to be $80M - $100M. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT FOR SMALL BUSINESSES ONLY. All interested Small Businesses are encouraged to respond to this announcement no later than February 23, 2011, 2:00 PM AST, by submitting all requested documentation listed below to: US Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, ATTN: CEPOA-CT-C/M (West), PO Box 6898, JBER, AK 99506-0898 or via email to Donna.L.West@usace.army.mil. Interested small businesses should submit a capabilities package demonstrating their ability to perform work listed above. Packages should include the following information: (1) Business name, address and small business type; (2) a positive statement of your intention to submit an offer for this requirement as a prime contractor; (3) demonstration of the firm's experience within the past five years by listing the actual construction projects completed (provide the following: a brief description of the work performed to include project title, dollar amount and which functional areas were self-performed and a customer contact name and phone number for a customer knowledgeable of the work completed); (4) attachments cataloging the firm's assets, personnel resources and financial resources that demonstrate the firm's responsibility and capability to perform the required work; and (5) information on any anticipated teaming with large business firms. Responsible sources having relevant experience and the capabilities to perform the work will be considered. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA), as required by FAR 4.1102 and 4.1201, will apply to this procurement. Prospective contractors must be registered prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
