- Description
- The AC-130U and MC-130H and Mission Computer Replacement Program (MCRP) requirement will utilize a Full and Open acquisition strategy. The solicitation will be uploaded to FedBizOpps. ESTIMATED Request for Proposal release date: 8Feb 2011. ESTIMATED responses due date: 10 March 2011. ESTIMATED award date for basic contract: 22 June 2011, with Option I (NRE Phase I) to be exercised 18 months after the basic award, Option II (Support Phase I) to be exercised 27 months after basic award, Option III (Production Option, MC-130H) to be exercised after successful MC-130H Production Readiness Review, Option IV (Production Option, AC-130U) to be exercised after successful AC-130U Production Readiness Review and Option V (Support Phase II) to be exercised 12 months after Option I). The Replacement Mission Computer (RMC) shall be a general purpose airborne computer that performs computations, data storage, and data transfer in the AC-130U Gunship and MC-130H Combat Talon II Avionics systems. The RMC shall be a fit and upgraded functional replacement for the AP-102A using state-of-the-art technology that meets current Input/Output (I/O) functionality with processing improvements and expansion capability for future Air Force needs. The physical dimensions are limited to the current allotted space for the AP-102A on the avionics shelf, and the RMC must mate to the existing aircraft connectors. However, a different mount could be acceptable. The current Operational Flight Program (OFP) for each Mission Designated Series (MDS) will need to be rehosted or recompiled onto the RMC.
