Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Denver Acquisition & Logistics Center (DALC) intends to award modifications to the current three FDA-approved manufacturers of Cochlear Implants and associated parts: Advanced Bionics, contract V791P-0340; Cochlear Americas, contract number V791P-0341; and Med-El Corporation, contract number V791P-0342. The modifications will extend the periods of performance from February 1, 2011 through July 31, 2011. The modifications will be awarded on the basis of limited number of responsible sources, where no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements, and full and open competition need not be provided for, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. See the attached Justification and Approvals. A competitive solicitation is being prepared to procure Cochlear Implants and associated parts for a base period of one year, with four one-year option periods. The planned base period will be from August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012. The solicitation will be posted at www.fbo.gov.
