- Notice of Intent to Sole Source Department of Justice, United States Marshals Service Conference Meeting Space, with a Reception, for the USMS Director's Annual Awards Ceremony The United States Marshals Service (USMS), Financial Services Division - Office of Procurement, Simplified Acquisitions Team intends to award a sole source (firm-fixed price) task order under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements, and 18 USC 3521 (b) (1) to Marriott Crystal Gateway, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Crystal City, VA 22202, to ensure that the ceremony is able to comfortably accommodate all 400 anticipated attendees. Upon the basis of the following determination & findings, it is necessary to provide for other than full and open competition in the contract action described below. The estimated value of this procurement is approximately $ 45,000.00. The period of performance will commence on April 13, 2011. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Interested parties may identify their interests and capability no later than 3:00 PM, Friday January 21, 2011. Responses to this posting must be in writing and submitted to Patrick Keefe by email, Patrick.Keefe@usdoj.gov A determination not to compete this award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Background The USMS has a requirement for a minimum of 16,000 square feet of Conference Meeting Space, jointly located, to include a Reception, in the immediate Crystal City, VA, area, within close walking distance of its HQ location at 1735 Jefferson Davis Highway, Crystal City, VA 22202.
