- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Activity VISN 22, intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source procurement with Beckman Coulter under the authority 6.302-1. This proposed contract action is to perform on-site full service, preventive maintenance, repair, and warranty of all work performed of a Beckman Coulter LH 500 Hematology Analyzer. The VA believes that Beckman Coulter is the only company that can provide the maintenance/support for LH750 Hematology Analyzers because the company has proprietary rights for software. The procurement is authorized under FAR 6.302-1. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the service that will satisfy the agency requirements. This is a notice of intent only. It is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer no later than January 27, 2011 by 11:00 AM PST. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements for services. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely by the discretion of the Government.
