- Description
- Notice of Intent to Exercise the Option under FAR Clause 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services This action will result in a modification to the current Contract, W91WAW-09-F-0021, with SKILLSOFT - 107 Northeastern Blvd., Nashua, NH 03062-1916. It should be noted that the contractor currently provides courseware and learning management system (LMS) for the IGEL Program that is currently used by an estimated 1,600 Department of Defense Office of the Inspector (DoDOIG) employees. This six-month extension of services is pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements," as implemented by FAR 6.302-1.This notice is being posted because the option, under FAR 52.217-8, was not previously evaluated as part of the initial contract award for W91WAW-09-F-0021. This option exercise will be at the current rates specified in the current contract, as allowed by FAR 52.217-8, and will extend the period of performance end date from January 23, 2011 to July 23, 2011. This option exercise will further allow for follow-on procurement to be accomplished. SKILLSOFT is the only responsible offeror for exercise of this option, as the Government would experience unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements if this option were not exercised before the current contract expiration date of 23 January 2011. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement specific to exercise of this option under FAR 52.217-8, "Option to Extend Services". This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred by interested parties in preparation of information or documents related to this option exercise. A determination by the Government to exercise the aforementioned option clause and not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to exercise the option under 52.217-8. Any responses to this notice of contract action shall be submitted to Ms. Constance Finnegan at: constance.finnegan@us.army.mil no later than 21 January 2011 by 12:00 PM EST.
