- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Affymetrix Inc., Santa Clara, CA 95051, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for the following items: 1) - #901229- (5 each) Kit, Genechip 3"IVT Express Kit 30 Reaction; 2) #901227- (1 each)-Kit, Hu Gen U133+ 2.0 Array and Kit 30 Reaction; 3) #901231- (3 each)- Kit, MU Genome 430 2.0 Array and Kit 30 Reaction; 4) #900720- (10 each)- RGT, Kit, HYB Wash Stain 30 RXN. The use of the Affymetrix GeneChip Arrays allows the NMG to provide the Institute with high quality data using the latest in genomics technology. The ability to maintain continuity of experimental procedures is crucial to the success of the NIEHS Division of Intramural Research and their efforts to perform the mission of the NIH. These items are to be used with the existing Affymetrix Eukaryotic GeneChip system for on-going research. Ordering from another source would compromise on-going experiments and compromise the integrity of data. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contract Specialist at the address stated below. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Affymetrix Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 325414/500 EMP. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
