Description
NAICS Code Change and Response Due Date Change: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a construction project for the Cape Cod Canal Bridges Steel Repair Bourne, Massachusetts to determine the interest, availability, and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237310 with a size standard of $33,500,000.00. The estimated construction cost is between $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. The project is planned to be issued on or about February 2011. The construction will occur during 2011-2012 and will last from 12-15 months. This project involves work on the above-deck and below-deck areas of the superstructure of the Bourne and Sagamore vehicular bridges over the Cape Cod Canal. This project includes removal of deteriorated structural steel secondary members and replacement with new members; strengthening existing structural steel members; and replacement of structural fasteners. In addition, existing welds on fracture critical members, floorbeams, and stringers are to be removed by specified methods. Selected gusset plates at truss connections require strengthening. In order to safely execute the work, the Contractor is responsible for designing and installing temporary under-deck work platforms and/or nets for fall protection. A comprehensive accident prevention plan is required. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work requirements stated above. Firms must submit past demonstrated construction experience on structural steel repairs, high strength bolting, and work on elevated structures.. This experience must have been performed within the last five years. Responses are due January 18, 2011. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Susan Dunnagan. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
