Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions-Neuroscience, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) on behalf of the National Institute of Aging (NIA) intends to negotiate award a sole source purchase order to Philips Medical Systems North America, Inc, 22100 Bothell Everett Highway, Bothell, WA, 98021-8431 for maintenance service on the Xcelera 3x Machine. The Xcelera 3x make the flow of echo reading seamless. It receives the images from the echo scanner then places them in a secure location and indexes each image. Once in the Xclera 3x, the Doctor can use the software to read/measure/diagnose for research or clinical needs. After a report is generated, the Xcelera 3x archive the images to be pulled back for future research. The period of performance is 12 months. Philips Medical Systems North America, Inc has access to proprietary parts and test instrumentation needed for effective repairs of the unit should it malfunction. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 12 procedures and is exempt for the requirement of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number 1862893 may be submitted to the NIDA, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition Branch, 31 Center Drive, Bldg. 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-2080 and Attention: Jasmine Snoddy, Contract Specialist.
