Description

Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM) is issuing this Sources Sought to identify potential experienced businesses that are classified under one or more of the following SBA programs: 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, SDVOSB, and/or VOSB. The firm must be a Construction Materials Testing Firm with an approved NAICS Code 541380, Small Business Size Standard of $12.0 million. The scope of work includes providing all material, labor, tools and equipment for all material testing and inspections necessary in support of construction work for the New Orleans Replacement Medical Center. The construction is comprised of the foundations, superstructure including roof and related supporting structural steel and related site improvements necessary for the construction of the Hospital, etc. The total square footage of the project is approximately 1.4 million square feet. At this time, no solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a solicitation package. Small Business Contractors and vendors having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought. Responses should include the following information: 1. Company Name, 2. Address, 3. Point of Contact, 4. Phone number and e-mail address, 5. Business size determination and qualifying Small Business status, 6. Certification of Small business Status, 7. Available Bonding Capacity, 8. Construction Material Testing experience of similar projects in size, scope, complexity and dollar amount within the last five years (minimum three). Respondents are requested to submit a Capability Statement that exhibits clear and convincing evidence of your firm's capabilities and experience to perform construction material testing and inspection. The capability statement is not to exceed ten (10) pages single-side (front only) or five (5) pages double-side (front and back). Email your responses to: Tammiko.Newell@va.gov by January 12, 2010 with New Orleans Testing and Inspection in subject line. This sources sought notice is for market research purposes in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. It does not constitute a solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. All interested parties will be required to respond to the resultant solicitation separately from their response to this sources sought. Small business concerns failing to respond to this source sought notice will not be precluded from responding to the solicitation, if issued. Note: This is not a request for proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research purposes only. The government may or may not issue solicitation documents. Any additional information regarding this notice will be posted at www.FEDBIZOPPS.gov. At this time, no solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a solicitation package.
