- This notice is provided for informational purposes only. This opportunity was only available to Palmetto GBA. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) modified an existing contract to meet mandates of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. CMS determined this work is within the scope of an existing contract with Palmetto GBA and therefore, obtained the services required via a modification to the contract with Palmetto GBA. The contract is for the Train the Trainer services and includes the development of training plans and assistance with plan implementation. The contract was modified to obtain education conference calls. The conference calls will be used to provide training for Fee-for-Service provider community on various aspects of the HITECH legislation in January 2011. The contract being modified was originally awarded competitively and is a Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) type contract. Due to the fact that the nature of the work being performed, including the work as modified, is unpredictable in terms of the actual number of participants and duration of the conferences the contract type remains CPFF.
