Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, Springfield, Missouri, intends to issue a solicitation with a requirement to upgrade and modify the existing medical gas line system in Building #1 at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, 1900 W. Sunshine Street, Springfield, Missouri. This project includes but is not limited to the installation of new valves and the relocation of various medical gas system components. The demolition and renovation work will require the repair and restoration of existing room finishes. The medical gas system provides services such as Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Nitrogen, Medical Air and Vacuum. All work on medical gas lines must be performed by a certified technician in medical gas. The period of performance will be ninety (90) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The magnitude of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The North American Industrial Classification system (NAICS) code applicable to this notice is 238220 with a size standard of $14 million. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small business, FOB Destination, firm fixed price. Payment Protection will be required for this project. Security investigations and subsequent clearances issued by the Federal Bureau of Prisons will be required for all staff who perform any contract activity on the institution property. The solicitation will be available on or about January 3, 2011, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov. All future information concerning this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through this website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about this solicitation. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The anticipated date for receipt of quotations is on or about January 18, 2011. Payments will be made using Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). United States Residency requirements are applicable to this solicitation. Quoting officials and contractor employees working under this contract on federal grounds will be required to sign a certification that for three of the five years immediately prior to responding to this solicitation, the quoter has: resided in the United States; worked for the U.S. overseas in a federal or military capacity; or has been a dependent of a federal or military employee serving overseas. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. Per FAR 4.12(a) Prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representation and certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov in conjunction with required registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. All responsible small business sources are encouraged to submit a quote that will be considered for award. Faith-Based and Community Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts which they are eligible.
