- Description
- The work consists of constructing an Aircraft Carrier Corridor within the limits of the Federal Navigation Channel between Lambert Bend and the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River. The construction work consists of new work dredging from Lambert Bend to the U.S. Naval Deperming Station to a depth of 50 feet with 2 feet of allowable overdepth and new work dredging from the U.S. Naval Deperming Station to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard to a depth of 47 feet with 2 feet of allowable overdepth. The work shall be performed by a hydraulic cutterhead dredge and pipeline, bucket-clamshell dredge and hydraulic unloader, or a combination of hydraulic cutterhead dredge and pipeline and bucket-clamshell dredge and hydraulic unloader. All dredged material shall be transported and placed in the Government-furnished upland placement area at Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area. Including allowable overdepth dredging and estimated accretion to March 2011, the project involves dredging approximately 2,968,045 cubic yards of material. The magnitude of the project is estimated at over $10,000,000.00. THIS PROCUREMENT IS UNRESTRICTED. The duration is 500 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The receipt date for bids is February 8, 2011 by 2:00 pm. NAICS CODE 237990 applies to this procurement. Submission requirements (plans/specs) will be available on/about January 5, 2011 via Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps, https://www.fbo.gov). Search on W91236% for solicitations issued by Norfolk District. No hard copies will be available. Prospective contractors must be registered Vendors with https://www.fbo.gov in order to download plans and specifications. Prospective contractors must be registered in the DOD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database in order to obtain access to FedBizOps. CCR Registration must also be active and current to be eligible for contract award. Information on registration and annual confirmation requirements may be obtained by calling 1-888-227-2423 or via the Internet at http://www.bpn.gov.
