- After further discussion and review at the Engineering Branch unit of the USDA, the decision has been made to cancel solicitation for the sale or lease of a chlorine dioxide generator. The CLO2 generator associated metering pumps and valves are very difficult to maintain and the chemicals are aggressive. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires the CLO2 disinfection system to run at 95% efficiency which can be difficult to maintain. They have recommend leasing the CLO2 generator, to include the chemicals, and monthly monitoring and maintenance of the equipment.
