- PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE ORDER General Information Document Type: Purchase Order Posted Date: 12/13/2010 Set Aside: N/A Contracting Office Address Department of Commerce, NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service, Auke Bay Laboratories, Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute, 17109 Pt. Lena Loop Rd, Juneau, AK 99801. Description The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Applied Biosystems for specific TaqMan assays and probes to genotype SNPS in a standardized method for use in the Applied Biosystems 7900 HT sequence detection system. Other consumables are also required for the Applied Biosystems 9700 thermocycler. The consumables are proprietary in nature and are the only ones that can be used for genotyping fish DNA samples. This notice of intent is for information purposes only, therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement. All sources eligible to provide this supply must respond in writing, response must be supported by clear and convincing evidence to clearly be able to provide services for products outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made.
