- The purpose of this announcement is to provide notice that the U.S. Forest Service, Northern California Service Center intends to release a solicitatation numbered A G-9A73-S-11-0002 on or about December 23, 2010, for the upgrade of the electrical system at the Northern California Coordination Center located at 6101 Airport Road, Redding, CA 96002. This is one phase of a mulit-faceted joint Federal and State agency upgrade, which is time sensitive and must be complete and in service by spring of 2011, prior to fire season. The solicitation will be released through the FEDBIZOPPS website, and prospective offerors should visit this website from time to time on or after December 23, 2010, to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Scope of work: The work to be performed under this contract consists of furnishing and installing all materials, equipment, conductors, conduits, boxes, devices, etc. including all fillings and fasteners as shown in the drawings and specifications that will be included in the solicitation. The work shall include, but not be limited to the following items: installation of conduit, raceway systems, Installation of power cables and conductors, installation of building outlet, junction, device and pull boxes, installation of switches, receptables, etc. complete with cover plates, building feeder requirements, installation of uniterrutable power supply (UPS). This project is time sensitive and the successful bidder will be required to start the project within one week of award, which is estimated to be February 1, 2011. It will be required to schedule the work under the proposed contract in phases. This to necessary to accomodate the work that is being performed by others concurrently as part of this mult-faceted project. SOLICITATION DETAILS: The following preliminary details are provided for the benefit of prospective bidders, but are subject to change in the actual solicitation. Estimated price range: between $25,000 - $75,000.00. Contract Type: Firm-Fixed Price. Contractor will be required to start project immediately after issuance of notice to proceed - estimated start date is February 1, 2011. Solicitation Type Request for Quotation, posted on this FedBizOpps website for viewing and printing on or after December 23, 2010. Closing date: 20 days after solicitation issuance. Contract award date: within 10 days of closing date. Notice to Proceed date: estimated February 1, 2011. All work under this contract shall be performed by a licensed electrical contractor. Prior to commencing work, the Contractor shall present a photostatic copy of his current license to the Contracting Officer. A site visit has been scheduled for December 20, 2010, at 2:00 pm PDT. The location will be the Northern California Service Center, located at 6101 Airport Road, Redding, CA 96002. PARTICIPATION: This project is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible and Small Business Administration certified Small Business sources may submit an offer which shall be considered.
