Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): Dix Corporation, W912BV-10-C-1013 As part of Operations and Maintenance, Army, Recover Act, this modification has been issued to Dix Corporation, to perform the following work: This modification purchases all the long lead items and materials to complete the following work: Trolley Bumpers and Stops--A trolley bumper and stop system shall be designed and manufactured to cushion and stop the trolley at the limits of travel as per ASME B30.2 Section 2-1.82. The trolley bumpers must be energy-absorbing with the capacity to stop the trolley when traveling with power off in either direction at a speed of at least 50 percent of rated load speed. The bumper and stop system will be designed in such a way as to operate in both upstream and downstream directions without interfering with the existing walkways. The bumper stops will be a bolt down design so they can be temporarily removed or relocated in the future. Gantry Bumpers and Stops--To achieve the same travel as with bumpers removed, new bumpers shall be designed and manufactured to meet ASME B30.2 Section 2-1.8.2 standards. The bumpers shall be designed to achieve energy-absorbing (or energy-dissipating) capacity to stop the gantry when traveling with power off in either direction at a speed of at least 40 percent of rated load speed. The bumpers and installation brackets shall be designed to install on the gantry legs at the existing bumper location and allow the crane to stop at maximum travel preventing the gantry wheels or sweeps from coming into contact with the concrete stops. Modify Trolley Rail Sweeps--New trolley rail sweeps shall be designed and manufactured to replace the existing sweeps and meet ASME B30.2-2005 Section 2-1.9 standards. They will be designed to mount in the existing sweep locations and not interfere with normal trolley operations.
