- This is a modification to a contract awarded on 24 June 2009 to provide an expanded and robust Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) capability in support of Overseas Contingency Operations. The BACN system provides interoperability and beyond line of site connectivity across a wide range of radio communications systems and waveforms. The contract includes the fielding of three BACN payloads (BACN Systems #1, #2, and #3) in modified BD-700 Global Express aircraft. This modification will extend the operation of System #1 due to end in December 2010 through June 2011.
