The Smithsonian Institution's National Zoological Park (the "NZP") seeks to enhance the visitor experience and generate revenue by converting an existing auditorium into a 4D theater (the "4D Theater"). The income generated from the theater will help to support the National Zoo. The NZP is seeking a theater provider to design, install, maintain, and provide programming and training for the 4D Theater. It is anticipated that the theater will be operated by Friends of the National Zoo ("FONZ") on behalf of the NZP. Interested companies must be willing to invest in the upfront costs of the 4D Theater's creation in return for a share of the revenue. The 4D Theater will be located in an existing 300-seat auditorium in the NZP Visitor Center. This is not a solicitation for a federal contract and is therefore not governed by federal procurement procedures. If your company is interested in working with the NZP to create the 4D Theater, please review the attached RFP and submit a proposal in accordance with the attached instructions and conditions. Please note that a pre-proposal conference will be held on December 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the NZP Visitor Center. To be considered, you must submit one (1) original and six (6) copies of your proposal as detailed in the RFP by no later than 2:00 P.M. Eastern time, on January 12, 2011. Proposals must be received by this deadline in order to be considered.
