Description
DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA) SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST TO ACQUIRE A SITE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NATIONAL CEMETERY The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is interested in acquiring a site on which the Government may construct a VA national cemetery in the Brevard County, Florida, region. VA will consider either a land purchase, or acceptance of a donated site. VA is looking for a parcel of two hundred (200) contiguous and developable acres, or larger. To be considered, the site must be within thirty-seven (37) miles of the interchange of Interstate 95 and routes A1A and 528 near Merritt Island/Titusville, Florida. In addition to proximity, the travel time via major highways will be a primary consideration. VA has identified the following counties in the region as preferred locations: Brevard, Orange and Osceola Other requirements: 1) Site ownership must be free and clear title that does not contain any encumbrances unacceptable to the Government. 2) Full disclosure of any hazardous or toxic wastes or materials on the site must be communicated to the Government in writing. 3) Easy access to the property via major roadways must currently exist or be planned for the immediate future. 4) Appropriate utility service and road access must presently exist or must be presently approved or planned by the appropriate jurisdiction(s). VA staff will conduct a market survey of offered properties. Interested offerors (owners, brokers, or their legal representatives) should submit one (1) copy of the information concerning the property, by mail, fax or e-mail no later than 4:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, on December 6, 2010, to the following: Jeffrey M. Leikin Real Property Service (00CFM3C) 811 Vermont Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20005 Telephone: 202-461-8246 Fax: 202-565-4974 E-mail: jeffrey.leikin@va.gov The Government will pay no more than the appraised fair market value for the site. RESPONDENTS ARE ADVISED THAT VA ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY TO PURCHASE A SITE BASED UPON REPONSES TO THIS ADVERTISEMENT.
